Why Choose The MXP 1.3 Car Dash Display & Data Logger

As one of our smaller options, the Aim MXP 1.3 is one of our most popular dash displays and data loggers for road and race users. It offers real time data on its 6” TFT screen, has customisable display layouts, lap timing capabilities thanks to the GPS09 Module (included in the kit) and is compatible with a range of Aim devices, all contributing to a comprehensive and versatile performance monitoring solution.

A Range Of Data Sources

The MXP is designed to collect and display data from the ECU, the internal accelerometer & gyro, the included GPS09 Module, analogue & digital inputs, and predefined math channels. You can also expand its capabilities by adding up to 8 modules to enhance performance and data acquisition.

Advanced Display

With its high-contrast 6” TFT display you can configure pages to suit your needs, choosing from a variety of styles, data types and measurement units. The digital display also allows you to easily navigate through the pages, which can be managed via one or two push buttons. An ambient light sensor adjusts the backlight for optimal brightness, ensuring clear visibility in all lighting conditions.

The system also supports 2 analogue camera inputs for a mirror camera function, activated by a push button or event. Please note: The camera is sold separately.

Integrated Shift Light Array & LEDs

The displays integrated shift lights allows you to choose from a host of advanced multi-coloured RGB shift light patterns that can be customised to suit your requirements, and for each unique gear when required.

The MXP display also comes with 5 RGB LEDs, allowing you to customise colours, alarm types (solid or flashing), flashing frequency and accompanying text messages. Alarm priorities can be set to suit your specific requirements.

Easy Connection

Connecting the MXP dash to your ECU is simple. You can sample dozens of channels directly from the cars ECU, needing only a cable connection to the ECU as opposed to multiple connections and analogue sensors.

The sampled data will depend on your specific ECU, but typically includes RPM, engine load, throttle position (TPS), oil, air & water temperature, oil pressure, battery voltage, speed, gear and lambda value (air/fuel ratio). The list of supported ECU drivers is constantly updated and includes more than 1,000 different ECUs.

Wi-Fi Connectivity

The MXP 1.3 dash has integrated Wi-Fi to allow you to conveniently transfer your data securely, straight from your vehicle to your laptop/PC trackside. You can then review your racing data in more depth by importing it to our free Race Studio 3 software, which can be done from up to 50m away without the need for connectors and cables.

2 Digital Outputs

The MXP features 2 digital outputs, each giving 1 amp at 12 volts. These outputs can be configured to be turned on/off depending on the value of the analogue or digital inputs. This functionality allows you to automatically run external systems, such as switching additional lights on/off or activating/deactivating cooling fans or circulation pumps when a certain event happens.

CAN Output

With the CAN output, you can send messages directly to an existing CAN network to improve the range of vehicle control possibilities.

GPS Module

The GPS Module, connected to the MXP via CAN, simplifies lap time calculation and track position analysis. With more than 4,000 tracks worldwide already stored, including the start and finish line coordinates, you’ll have no trouble monitoring your position and lap times when you’re on the track.

As soon as the MXP is powered on, the GPS Module will locate its position, identify the track line coordinates and start immediately sampling lap and split time. If the track isn’t in the database, you can easily add the start/finish line coordinates using the free Race Studio 3 software on your PC before heading to the track.

Note: The included GPS Module is available with 0.50m, 1.3m, 2m or 4m length cables. We also have an option for a roof-mounted version which is available with 2m or 4m length cables.

Pin Wiring Harness

The 37 Pin Wiring Harness comes standard in the kit, but you can also add an Aim 22 Pin Wiring Harness as an optional extra if you require more data.

Compatible Expansions

The MXP display is compatible with various expansions and modules to enhance performance and expand on data collection. Using the built-in CAN bus, you can add the following expansion modules to the MXP displays setup:

Configure & Analyse with Race Studio 3

Configuration

With Race Studio 3, you can create, modify, delete, import, and export configurations for all channels, ECU drivers, math channels, display pages, digital outputs, alarms, shift lights and all the expansions you need. You will also be able to manage the map of all your racing tracks and compare two laps by watching the video recorded by SmartyCam HD cameras.

Analysis

Race Studio 3 also allows you to download and analyse all data recorded by the MXP 1.3 display. With graphs, histograms and tables, you can study your lap and sector times to refine racing lines and braking points to enhance your racing performance.
