Why Choose The MXG 1.3 Car Dash Display & Data Logger

The MXG 1.3 is one of our largest dash displays and data loggers. It offers real time data on its 7" TFT screen, has customisable display layouts, lap timing capabilities thanks to the GPS09 Module (included in the kit) and is compatible with a range of Aim devices, all contributing to a comprehensive and versatile performance monitoring solution.

A Range Of Data Sources

The MXG is designed to collect and display data from the ECU, the internal accelerometer & gyro, the included GPS09 Module, analogue & digital inputs, and predefined math channels. You can also expand its capabilities by adding up to 8 modules to enhance performance and data acquisition.

Easy Connection

Connecting the MXG 1.3 Dash to the ECU is simple. You can sample dozens of channels straight from the car's ECU, requiring only a cable connection to the ECU instead of multiple connections and analogue sensors.

The data you can sample will depend on your specific ECU, but it typically includes RPM, engine load, throttle position (TPS), oil, air & water temperature, oil pressure, battery voltage, speed, gear and lambda value (air/fuel ratio). The list of supported ECU drivers is regularly updated and now includes over 1,000 different ECUs.

Advanced Display

With a high contrast 7" TFT display, you can configure pages to suit your needs, choosing from a variety of fonts, data types and measurement units. Swapping through the pages is managed by pushing one or two pushbuttons and an ambient light sensor adjusts the backlight for optimal brightness, ensuring clear visibility in all lighting conditions.

The system also supports 2 analogue camera inputs for a mirror camera function, activated by a pushbutton or event. Note: The camera is sold separately.

Integrated Shift Light Array & LEDs

With integrated shift lights, you can choose from a host of multi-coloured RGB shift light patterns that can be customised to suit your requirements, and for each unique gear when required.

The MXG Display also comes with 8 RGB LEDs, allowing you to customise colours, alarm types (solid or flashing), flashing frequency and accompanying text messages. Alarm priorities can be set to suit your specific requirements.

2 Digital Outputs

The MXG 1.3 features 2 digital outputs, each capable of providing 1 amp at 12 volts. These outputs can be configured to turn on or off depending on the value of the analogue or digital inputs. This functionality allows you to automatically control external systems, such as switching additional lights on or off or activating and deactivating cooling fans or circulation pumps when specific events happen.

CAN Output

With the CAN output, you can send messages directly to an existing CAN network to improve the range of vehicle control possibilities.

GPS Module

The GPS Module, connected to the MXG via CAN, simplifies lap time calculation and track position analysis. With more than 4,000 tracks worldwide already stored, including the start and finish line coordinates, you’ll have no trouble monitoring your position and lap times when you’re on the track.

As soon as the MXG is powered on, the GPS Module will quickly locate its position, identify the track’s coordinates and start recording lap and split times immediately. If the track isn’t in the database, you can easily add the start/finish line coordinates using the free Race Studio 3 software on your PC before heading to the track.

Note: The included GPS Module is available with 0.5m, 1.3m, 2m or 4m length cables. We also have an option for a roof-mounted version which is available with 2m or 4m length cables.

Pin Wiring Harness

The 37 Pin Wiring Harness comes standard in the kit, but you can also add an Aim 22 Pin Wiring Harness as an optional extra if you require more data.

Wi-Fi Connectivity

The MXG 1.3 Dash has integrated Wi-Fi to allow you to conveniently transfer your data securely, straight from your vehicle to your laptop/PC trackside. You can then review your racing data in more depth by importing it to our free Race Studio 3 software, which can be done from up to 50m away without the need for connectors or cables.

Compatible Expansions

The MXG Display is compatible with various expansions and modules to enhance performance and expand on data collection. Using the built-in CAN bus, you can add the following expansion modules to the MXG Displays setup:

Configure & Analyse with Race Studio 3

Configuration

With Race Studio 3, you can create, modify, delete, import, and export configurations for all channels, ECU drivers, math channels, display pages, digital outputs, alarms, shift lights and all the expansions you need. You will also be able to manage the map of all your racing tracks and compare two laps by watching the video recorded by SmartyCam HD cameras.

Analysis

Race Studio 3 also allows you to download and analyse all data recorded by the MXG 1.3 Display. With graphs, histograms and tables, you can study your lap and sector times to refine racing lines and braking points to enhance your racing performance.
